This book is the first book in the Strategy to Results series, which is about changing mindsets and breaking away from using the same thinking that has been mostly ineffective. It is the first step in outlining a transformation journey.

Project management is central to this transformation, helping organizations connect strategy with execution to deliver results. It is an essential set of skills that will help organizations succeed and maximize shareholders’ value!

The first book, Vision Realized! (published in March 2025), with a second edition coming in October 2026, is for an executive-level audience, which is necessary since organizations must start with the strategic aspects and the founding of a practical project management function. Organizations cannot transform if executives do not proactively take the lead and ownership to build a robust foundation and the rest of the structure. Therefore, this book explored various aspects of the current state of practice. Then, we made the case for change and proposed an envisioned future. That book offered a vision and explained how top executives can realize it.

Once an organization accepts the case made in Book 1, someone has to build the thing. Successful Transformation is the playbook: a firsthand guide for standing up a transformation program management team (TPMT) and building a sustainable, effective project management function — the unit, the organizational project management system, the methods, and the governance that hold it together.

Transformation initiatives have a well-documented failure rate, and it’s rarely the strategy that’s the problem. This book equips the leaders sponsoring and steering the effort to structure transformation so it survives contact with the organization.

Governance is often treated as a compliance checkbox. Done right, it’s the mechanism that connects strategy to delivery and protects value at every decision point. Practical Governance establishes the governance-centric framework at the heart of the series — including the Uruk Framework itself — giving executives a working, stage-gate model for decision-making without the bureaucracy that usually comes with it.

This book is the framework’s decision-making layer: the model that keeps every level of Strategy to Results, from vision through delivery, accountable to the next.

A framework only proves itself at the point of execution. Delivering Value is where Strategy to Results becomes action — introducing the Value Delivery Methodology (VDM), which operationalizes governance into disciplined, repeatable delivery. Methodology shouldn’t be a binder on a shelf; it should be the engine that turns governance into results.
